Our Mission

Our mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect and strengthen families by providing short-term childcare and support to families during times of high stress and crisis.

Our Vision

Our vision is to strengthen families and decrease the number of young children who enter into the foster care system. By keeping families together and connecting them to resources throughout the community we build stronger families and a stronger community better equipped to deal with hard times.

-FRIENDS National Resource Center (2007)

Crisis nurseries are “a way to reduce child abuse and neglect and a necessary tool to help disadvantaged families cope effectively with stress”,

-Kids Count in Missouri (2009)

Crisis Nurseries are “an integral component on the continuum of services that communities can offer to families.”

-Missouri Children’s Trust Fund

"Children who receive crisis nursery services prior to being placed in out-of-home care are twice as likely to be reunited with their biological families as other children in [the] child welfare system."
